Once upon a time I had our keys on a little wooden sign that said Keys and had about 4 hooks on it. It was cute and organized (sorta). It was on the same wall as the garage door, and anytime the door shut, the Keys sign and all the keys would fall off the wall and down between the dryer and the wall. Not much of a time saver. So then I gave up and threw them all in a basket.
I took this picture after I took all the keys out, but you can see how not organized it was.
I've been "pinteresting" key organizers and there are some cute ideas out there. I was trying to make do with what I have for THIS MINUTE tho.
I promise I will make it prettier some day. I do have an idea in my mind. A big wooden board about the size of the bulletin board, stained or chalkboard paint, with actual hooks instead of pushpins and pretty labels for each of the keys. Until then, this will have to do. Also, the placement is useful, but temporary. It's not on the same wall as the garage door either. See, I'm not "in love" with my laundry room right now, but I don't want to do too much decorating in there until I get a new washer and dryer (like a front loading one, we will probably be the last people on the earth to get one tho, but we're getting closer to the goal!). I also have a few remodeling ideas in my mind for the laundry room that require tearing down sheet rock, etc. My hubby isn't the hammering type tho, so we'll either have to hire someone or bribe one of our dad's with chocolate chip cookies or coffee.
Also, this is for you gma marcie. In Jonna's room, I moved her books from this little shelf and she has a knitting/crocheting bin now.
Cool idea! I have a bulletin board sitting in my basement that I need some ideas for!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby got a kick out of the keys with ? marks by them. :) I'm sure we have a bunch of those too; they are just still in hiding!
